Advice

Shed light on the question before you act.

Practice

Offer butter lamps or candles.

The symbol

Butter lamps burn in every Tibetan temple and home shrine, and offering a lamp is offering light that dispels ignorance. A bright lamp in an open space means the darkness around the question is about to lift.

The two throws

The Bright Lamp comes up when the first throw of the die shows RA (fire) and the second shows A (space).

ར
First: RA · Fire

RA is the syllable of fire. It brings energy, warmth, light and the power to make things happen, and with them the risks of fire: haste, anger and burning out.

ཨ
Second: A · Space

A is the first sound of every alphabet and the syllable of open space. It stands for what is wide, clear and not yet filled: room to move, a fresh start, nothing in the way.
