The symbol

A tree is a common image for a life or an enterprise that grows from its roots. When the sap is gone, the tree still stands, but it can neither flower nor fruit. The sign asks for the roots to be cared for first.

The two throws

The Dried-up Tree comes up when the first throw of the die shows RA (fire) and the second shows NA (earth).

ར
First: RA · Fire

RA is the syllable of fire. It brings energy, warmth, light and the power to make things happen, and with them the risks of fire: haste, anger and burning out.

ན
Second: NA · Earth

NA is the syllable of earth. It stands for what is solid and lasting: land, home, property, the body and slow, steady increase.
