The symbol

Tibetan tradition pays close attention to auspicious signs: dreams, chance meetings, the weather on the day a journey begins. A door of auspicious visions opens onto exactly these signs, and says they can be trusted.

The two throws

The Door of Auspicious Visions comes up when the first throw of the die shows RA (fire) and the second shows DHI (wisdom).

ར
First: RA · Fire

RA is the syllable of fire. It brings energy, warmth, light and the power to make things happen, and with them the risks of fire: haste, anger and burning out.

དྷཱི
Second: DHI · Wisdom

DHI is the seed syllable of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. It stands for clear understanding, intelligence and blessing, and it turns almost any throw toward a good outcome.
