The symbol

The parasol is the first of the eight auspicious symbols. Held over royalty and over sacred images, it protects from heat and harm and shows dignity. White Umbrella, Sitatapatra, is also a protective goddess with a famous prayer of her own.

The two throws

The White Umbrella of Good Fortune comes up when the first throw of the die shows TSA (wind) and the second shows A (space).

ཙ
First: TSA · Wind

TSA is the syllable of wind. It carries movement, breath, messages and travel. It spreads news and fans flames, and it can scatter what is not tied down.

ཨ
Second: A · Space

A is the first sound of every alphabet and the syllable of open space. It stands for what is wide, clear and not yet filled: room to move, a fresh start, nothing in the way.
