ᛃ · sound “j” · Year, harvest
Jera (ᛃ) is rune 12 of the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark, in Heimdall's aett. Its name means year, harvest.
The turning of the year. What you planted earlier now ripens, and results arrive on nature's schedule, not on yours.
Jera looks the same turned upside down, so it has no reversed meaning. It is one of the nine runes that read the same either way up, and it is always read as year, harvest.
Trust the season you are in.
Jera means year, and in particular a good harvest year. It gives English "year" and is closely related to German Jahr. Its shape is two interlocking hooks, often read as the turning of the seasons. The Old English rune poem calls it a hope for people, when the earth gives its bright fruits.
Jera is about rewards that come from patient work: what you planted earlier now ripens. In a reading it can mark a full cycle, a result that takes time, or a reminder that a season should not be rushed. Its shape looks much the same when reversed, so it has no reversed reading in this app.
