I learned about "book-carving" by watching the inspiring TED talk Old books reborn as intricate art by Brian Dettmer. Unlike other art forms where we usually add material, book carving is about removing material. I was very curious about the process, so I tried, and here is my first book carving.
Interestingly, I thought I was done, then I thought of more things to do, then again, and again. It didn't feel like scope creep but more like playing the game of Go and not being sure if the game is over or not.
I used the book The Grand Tour for this book carving.
